Acai Berries & Internet Mis-information

Sadly, the internet is responsible for so many pet parents not feeding their dogs healthy foods because it says they are unsafe without reputable sources.

Acai berries are generally considered safe for dogs to consume in small amounts. They are a rich source of antioxidants, specifically anthocyanins, flavonoids, and other beneficial compounds.

The general concern relates to an alkaloid called Theobromine which is present in chocolate however like anything, the dosage is what makes something safe or not BUT when you start to really look into this, it doesn't actually seem like Theobromine is actually in Acai so not sure where that originated from.
There are no reported cases of acai poisoning in dogs that can be found.

Below is an excerpt from a publication called 'Toxic Times' which is a veterinary information service.
